About the Recipe

an original For Good Granola recipe

Way better than a plain ‘ole banana. This 3 ingredient smoothie bowl whips up quickly in your high-powered blender and is a blank canvas for your favorite toppings and any variety of our For Good Granola.

We found using ripe bananas with lots of brown speckling on the peel, without being overly ripe, provided the best creamy texture and natural sweetness to our smoothie bowl. We recommend saving your overly ripe brown and bruised bananas for your next batch of banana bread! If you are using a standard blender (vs high-powered, like Vitamix or Ninja), let frozen bananas sit on your counter for 15 minutes before adding to the pitcher of the blender. Use dairy or non-dairy milk to aid in processing.

Ingredients

  • 3 large (or 4 small) ripe bananas, peeled and cut into 1-2” pieces, then frozen

  • 3 T creamy almond butter

  • 3 T flaxseed meal 1 t vanilla bean paste (substitute 1:1 vanilla extract)

  • 2-4 T dairy or non-dairy milk, if needed

  • toppings of choice (flaked coconut, seeds, berries, pineapple, kiwi, banana, nut butter)

Directions

Step 1

To the pitcher of a high-powered blender add frozen sliced bananas, almond butter, flaxseed meal, and vanilla bean paste. Blend, starting on low speed, then increasing speed as ingredients begin to break down. If your blender has a tamper, use it during processing to help push the ingredients toward the blender blades. Alternatively, you can stop the blender and stir ingredients as needed, as well as add milk to the mixture to aid in processing. Blend until smooth.

Step 2

Portion mixture between two serving bowls and top with For Good Granola variety of choice and any additional toppings you desire.
